Immediately when we arrived in Munich, we started to think about ways to improve our coverage. One thing we decided to do was get rid of the ShowStoppers! section that had been a regular part of our previous reports and concentrate on getting more pictures for our standard product coverage. The rationale was that the ShowStoppers! section put too much focus on too few products, and by eliminating it we could show our readers more products that might be relevant to them. Three days into our show coverage, we think it was a wise choice.

But we wanted to do more, and today we had a new idea. Anyone who knows me is aware that I like to get out of a show every once in a while and visit the city it's being held in. I did that today -- Jeff and I went to High End in the morning and then left just after noon to tour Munich by foot and do some shopping. Since we'd just left the show, I had my camera with me and I started snapping photos of most everything I saw. It was then that we thought about including these photos as part of our coverage -- after all, I'm probably not the only person who likes to see the sights around the cities we visit.

So starting later today, there will be a new show-report section added called SnapShots! that will feature photos from around town as well as some extras that we take at the show. Most will be caption-less, meaning there will be a photo but no text; however, we'll name each gallery so that you know what it's about. This won't only be done for High End, but for every show we go to from now on.

Below is a photo of the Glockenspiel, a famous landmark in downtown Munich. Look for more photos in the SnapShots! galleries. The first one will be online later tonight.
